How does MR do their raids for MC? We seem to have a high number of Kiwis involving themselves when MR leads the group.
They apparently don't do DKPs though because quite a few people have complained that they got screwed out of an item that they should have been able to roll for.
Anyone have any clear insight into this?

I have mixed emotions about DKPs. On the one hand, I would be very gutted if I had been on 15+ MC runs to get something like The Talisman of Ephemeral Power and I was outrolled by a guy on his second run.
On the otherhand, I feel for the people who cannot invest loads of their time into runs and still want uber gear.
Either way, people who invest their time the most to get what they want should deserve it. Its a sort of WoW work ethic you could say.

If you need something on a MR raid, you simply whisper Lazuras (MR GM), and he decides who gets it.
I was just happy enough to go on the raid, thus it wasnt a problem with me, but I wont invest tremendous amounts of my online time to MR raids if I dont start seeing Kiwis get stuff.

It would be great to use our normal kiwis looting rules for MC but we have to acknowledge the lvl of commitment that the players which will raid alot are making to the guild. If we do not have a core of 20 to 30 players then we will not advance very far in MC.
Having said that we also need to give our casual players an opertunity to get loot when they have time to come on a raid.
So I have been looking around the net for a fair system and I beleave I have found one. Its call the zero-sum DKP system.
How it works.
Loot is given a pts value, when it drops the total for all the loot dropped is shared between the players in the raid.
The raid leader then decides which classes can roll on the loot.
Everyone who wants to roll does and then there current DKP total is added to the roll.
The winner then has the value of the item subtracted from there DKP total.
Example (our first raid)
Everyone will be on 0 DKP.
Loot drops, two helms @ 40 DKP each. Each player on raid recieves 2 DKP.
The given class rolls and whoever wins will have a DPK total of -38 (0 + 2 - 40).
The next time loot drops for that class the player can still roll but will have 38 subtracted from there total and the other members of the class will have 2 added to there roll.
Example 2 Casual player comes on there first raid.
They will start on 0 DKP players in there class which have recieved loot in the past will probably be on negitive DKP so the casual player will have a chance of recieving loot on there first run!!!!
So what do ya think, I know it is complicated but not as complicated as actually raiding MC !!!!!

Fawa, I applaud and thank you for taking the research of this topic on. This type of system would absolutely get me to go on MC/BWL/Onyxia raids more often. I'm betting other players would find this interesting as well. I'll most likely never enjoy 5+ hour-long instances but this system seems much fairer than the originally posted one which appears to horribly favor full-time MMORPG players.
Thank you for taking the time to investigate this on your own. It's greatly appreciated.

Nice thoughts people which is why i asked in the first place. This will have to be thought about and hopefully more than 14 of our 200 members will comment on it.......... BUT out of the 7% response we have so far it looks like not to many people want the points system. More thoughts please ?

Seeing that so few people actually use the boards, how about we go with Fawa's proposed system plus a set of bonus points to those people who are legitimately active on the forums. :-) Say, +10 points for active posters on all class-based item rolls.
(This ia a joke. I posted simply to tie Orph in total # of posts. ;-) )

Zero sum DKP is fine until someone on their lucky day wins 3 rolls in a row (especially on their firs run). Zero sum could be better for us if perhaps we dont allow a winner to roll again until the other people in his class for the item get a go at it first ? More thoughts please.............

Good point and I'm glad you thought of this. Each loot item should be agreed on to be for a specific class by the ML and then handed out to the winner of the roll at a rate of one item per class player until everyone in that class has won an item. I do think that this tally should be reset each instance run however. Anyone else have a thought? Another thought, what happens if someone jumps into the instance run late? Should they be allowed to immediately begin rolling for a class item or should they have a -1 item penalty for not participating in the entire instance? /Faaru

If we were using normal kiwi loot rules for mc:
1 set piece per run/or 1 epic
all boe blues/greens should be put into a losers' lotto for the end of the run.
let's face it, if i went on a run, and a raid member won green/s and an epic/set piece, and i didn't get jack shit for my time, i wouldn't go back. not with that group anyway.
for those who want to do mc, and are casuals, exactly how long do you think each stage of mc takes?
